What we do

“Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others.” (1 Peter 4 v10)

Churches have ministers but the Bible says that every member is a minister. The verse above reminds us that every person in the church has his or her own spiritual gifts, life skills, natural abilities and passions. As we serve others, we grow in Christian maturity and we build up the body of Christ. The ministries of our church are limited only by our members gifts and willigness to participate.

Information about the activities of more specific groups can be found by clicking the links in the right navigation panel.

Growth Groups

Small groups are the engine room of our church as we work to grow disciples for Jesus Christ and we hold our group leaders in highest regard. Our groups are holistic in approach, not just fellowship and bible studies but also a place of worship and prayer, an opportunity for Christian service and a practical outreach to others with the good news of Jesus Christ. Each of the groups has an outreach focus is committed to promoting that group or person in the larger church.

Currently we have a number of small groups meeting weekly or fortnightly, day time or evenings and we encourage all our members to join a group. Please contact the church office for more information.

Missions

Our mission of growing disciples of Jesus Christ begins with our local area but extends to the ends of the earth. At All Saints’ we aim to be informed and support the work of the gospel in communities outside of Balgowlah and in other countries. To this end, each Growth Group is encouraged to focus on a group or individual for prayer, financial and practical support and to keep the wider church informed. Some of our current groups/agencies can be found on the links page.

Prayer

Prayer undergirds all the activities of our church, showing our dependence on the Lord.

The Prayer Tree operates as the need arises. With four separate branches, a phone call can mean that within minutes any concern or need can be brought to the Lord through our team of prayers.

A Day of Prayer is held regularly with the church being open throughout the day for our members to come and pray for the needs of our church and world. At the end of each Day of Prayer an hour long service of Prayer and Praise is conducted in the church.

Members meet at 6am-6:30am in the Side Chapel of the church every Wednesday to pray for the church and the world and all are welcome to attend. More information here.
